Research Grants are available for the period from September 1, 2013, to February 28, 2014. These grants provide a monthly allowance of KRW900,000; round-trip airfare at actual expense; and access to the AKS facilities, including the library and Jangseogak Archives.
Grant recipients must either enroll in at least one full-time course at the AKS or attend one-to-one private lessons with an academic advisor chosen at application time; remain in Korea and concentrate on their research during the grant period; and, at the end of the grant period, submit a report summarizing their research findings and an evaluation report written by their academic advisor.

The AKS Thesis Grant offers awards of KRW3,000,000 (first prize) and KRW1,000,000 (second prize). Applicants must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree program in the field of Korean studies at an overseas university and must reside outside of Korea at the time of application. The application deadline is September 30, 2013.
