AAS NEAC Korea Grant Applications Due October 1

Just one month remains before the dead­line for appli­ca­tions for the fall/winter Korea grants avail­able from the Asso­ci­a­tion for Asian Stud­ies North­east Asia Coun­cil (NEAC). The grants, offered in con­junc­tion with the Korea Foun­da­tion, are designed to assist the research of indi­vid­ual schol­ars based in North Amer­i­ca to improve the qual­i­ty of teach­ing about Korea on both the col­lege and pre­c­ol­lege lev­els and to inte­grate the study of Korea into the major aca­d­e­m­ic dis­ci­plines.

Grants are avail­able in a num­ber of cat­e­gories, includ­ing North Amer­i­ca or Korea research trav­el; Korea conference/seminar/workshop fund­ing; and Korea Instruc­tion­al mate­ri­als. For the North Amer­i­ca and Korea research trav­el cat­e­gories only, appli­cants must be cur­rent AAS mem­bers at the time of appli­ca­tion.

Appli­ca­tions must be received at the AAS Ann Arbor, Michi­gan, office by Fri­day, Octo­ber 1, 2010. Appli­ca­tions for sum­mer research trav­el are accept­able in this grant round as long as the par­tic­u­lar research project is com­plete and all grant forms and expense receipts are sub­mit­ted by Decem­ber 31, 2011.
