Korean Studies Faculty Position at Seoul National University Graduate School of International Studies

The Grad­u­ate School of Inter­na­tion­al Stud­ies at Seoul Nation­al Uni­ver­si­ty is accept­ing appli­ca­tions for one full-time fac­ul­ty posi­tion, open rank and tenure track, in Kore­an stud­ies to begin in March 2011 or Sep­tem­ber 2011. Being sought is an inter­na­tion­al schol­ar with out­stand­ing research and teach­ing cre­den­tials, in par­tic­u­lar in the fields of Kore­an pol­i­tics, Kore­an cul­ture (includ­ing lit­er­a­ture) and his­to­ry, and North Korea.

To be con­sid­ered, a can­di­date must have earned a Ph.D. by August 2010 and will be expect­ed to lec­ture in Eng­lish (two cours­es per semes­ter). Excel­lent com­pe­tence in oral and writ­ten Kore­an and Eng­lish is essen­tial and native-level com­pe­tence is a plus.

Can­di­dates should sub­mit a let­ter of intent, cur­ricu­lum vitae, descrip­tions of three prospec­tive cours­es, and a ten-year research plan includ­ing three pub­li­ca­tions (dis­ser­ta­tion, books, and arti­cles) to:
