The Graduate School of International Studies at Seoul National University is accepting applications for one full-time faculty position, open rank and tenure track, in Korean studies to begin in March 2011 or September 2011. Being sought is an international scholar with outstanding research and teaching credentials, in particular in the fields of Korean politics, Korean culture (including literature) and history, and North Korea.
To be considered, a candidate must have earned a Ph.D. by August 2010 and will be expected to lecture in English (two courses per semester). Excellent competence in oral and written Korean and English is essential and native-level competence is a plus.
Candidates should submit a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, descriptions of three prospective courses, and a ten-year research plan including three publications (dissertation, books, and articles) to:
