Korean American Day 2011

UH Kore­an Ensem­ble

The Cen­ter for Kore­an Stud­ies, the Unit­ed Kore­an Asso­ci­a­tion of Hawai’i, and the Kore­an Amer­i­can Foun­da­tion Hawai’i will spon­sor an obser­vance of Kore­an Amer­i­can Day at the Cen­ter Jan­u­ary 13, 2011, begin­ning at 5:30 p.m.

The Kore­an Amer­i­can Day pro­gram will com­mem­o­rate the 108th anniver­sary of the begin­ning of Kore­an immi­gra­tion to Hawai’i in Jan­u­ary 1903.

The pro­gram will include remarks by sev­er­al speak­ers and a short con­cert by the Uni­ver­si­ty of Hawai’i Kore­an Ensem­ble, a five-mem­ber group per­form­ing on tra­di­tion­al Kore­an musi­cal instru­ments. Din­ner will fol­low the con­cert. The pro­gram is free and open to all.
