The Matsunaga Institute for Peace will sponsor a forum on Korea-Japan security issues February 16, 2007. The forum will be held in the Center for Korean Studies Auditorium on the UH Manoa campus.
The speakers at the forum will be former New York Times Asia correspondent Richard Halloran and C. Kenneth Quinones of Akita International University, a former State Department officer and the current holder of the Arthur Lynn Andrews Chair in Asian and Pacific Studies at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. They will discuss security issues involving Japan and Korea (North and South), including the six-party talks on North Korea’s nuclear program.
