The Halla Huhm Korean Dance Studio will hold its 15th memorial concert Saturday, August 8, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. at Mamiya Theater (Saint Louis Center for the Arts, 3142 Waialae Avenue, Honolulu).
The program will feature thirty-five students ranging in age from four to seventy-four and will include many dances choreographed by the late Halla Huhm. A court dance to honor the late Kim Ch’on-hung will also be performed, along with a newly composed drum/martial arts piece. The concert will end with “Aloha Samulnori,” a multicultural piece blending Korean and Hawaiian instruments.
Tickets are priced at $20 for general admission and $15 for seniors/students and will be available at the door.
