Halla Huhm Korean Dance Studio Concert August 8

The Hal­la Huhm Kore­an Dance Stu­dio will hold its 15th memo­r­i­al con­cert Sat­ur­day, August 8, 2009, at 7:30 p.m. at Mamiya The­ater (Saint Louis Cen­ter for the Arts, 3142 Waialae Avenue, Hon­olu­lu).

The pro­gram will fea­ture thir­ty-five stu­dents rang­ing in age from four to sev­en­ty-four and will include many dances chore­o­graphed by the late Hal­la Huhm. A court dance to hon­or the late Kim Ch’on-hung will also be per­formed, along with a new­ly com­posed drum/martial arts piece. The con­cert will end with “Alo­ha Samul­nori,” a mul­ti­cul­tur­al piece blend­ing Kore­an and Hawai­ian instru­ments.

Tick­ets are priced at $20 for gen­er­al admis­sion and $15 for seniors/students and will be avail­able at the door.
