Language researcher Jami Kim is looking for native speakers of American English to participate in a study of pronunciation training in Korean. Five free pronunciation classes will be offered for one hour per week every Monday, 3:30–4:30 p.m., from October 25 to November 22, 2010, in the Center for Korean Studies conference room. Participants will receive a textbook and accompanying CD for the class.
Participants will take a pre-test and a post-test for about an hour per person (there is some flexibility in test time). The test results will be used to help develop effective educational methods for second language learners of Korean. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a $20 gift certificate to either Yogurtland or Starbucks.
To participate, contact Jami Kim (firstname.lastname@example.org) by e-mail or telephone (808) 753‑1250.
Jong-mi (Jami) Kim is a professor of English language and literature at Kangwon National University in Korea. She is currently a visiting scholar at the Center for Korean Studies.
