Fifth International Workshop on Korean Studies

The Fifth Inter­na­tion­al Work­shop on Kore­an Stud­ies spon­sored by the World­wide Con­sor­tium of Kore­an Stud­ies Cen­ters con­vened at at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Hawai‘i Cen­ter for Kore­an Stud­ies July 7, 2009, for a four-day pro­gram of pre­sen­ta­tions and dis­cus­sions around the theme “Korea Cop­ing with Globalization.”

The World­wide Con­sor­tium of Kore­an Stud­ies Cen­ters work­shops are designed to pro­vide a forum for grad­u­ate stu­dents in Kore­an stud­ies to share their research in a sup­port­ive and encour­ag­ing envi­ron­ment and to pro­mote schol­ar­ly inter­est in Korea around the globe. 

The 2009 work­shop drew twen­ty-six grad­u­ate-stu­dent par­tic­i­pants from eigh­teen uni­ver­si­ties in the Unit­ed States, Korea, Japan, Cana­da, the Unit­ed King­dom, and Chi­na. For a list of the par­tic­i­pants and the work­shop pro­gram, see http://www.hawaii.edu/korea/wckscw5/index.html.
