Early Career Professorship in Korean Social Science at USC

The Dana and David Dorn­sife Col­lege of Let­ters, Arts and Sci­ences at the Uni­ver­si­ty of South­ern Cal­i­for­nia in Los Ange­les seeks to fill a full-time tenure-track posi­tion as assis­tant pro­fes­sor of Kore­an social sci­ence, begin­ning in fall 2013. 

This endowed assis­tant pro­fes­sor­ship will seek a fac­ul­ty mem­ber who does schol­ar­ly work in the social sci­ences to advance Kore­an stud­ies in one or more of the prospec­tive areas of inter­na­tion­al rela­tions, polit­i­cal sci­ence, eco­nom­ics, his­to­ry, East Asian lan­guages and cul­tures, reli­gion, soci­ol­o­gy, or oth­er social sciences. 

Can­di­dates are sought who have excep­tion­al promise as schol­ars and teach­ers to offer cours­es at the under­grad­u­ate and grad­u­ate lev­els. Sub­stan­tive areas of research and teach­ing are open across the social sci­ences. Can­di­dates should have a Ph.D. by the expect­ed start date and should have demon­strat­ed the promise of excel­lence in both research and teaching.
