Cornell University Korean Studies Position Open

The Depart­ment of Asian Stud­ies at Cor­nell Uni­ver­si­ty in Itha­ca, New York, invites appli­ca­tions for a posi­tion in Kore­an stud­ies at the rank of assis­tant pro­fes­sor (tenure track) to begin July 1, 2011. Respon­si­bil­i­ties include teach­ing cours­es about Korea at under­grad­u­ate and grad­u­ate lev­els and advis­ing grad­u­ate stu­dents in the field. Area of spe­cial­iza­tion should be Kore­an human­i­ties with strong empha­sis on Kore­an lit­er­a­ture, media stud­ies, or cul­tur­al stud­ies with Kore­an lan­guage com­pe­tence.

Can­di­dates must be able to con­tribute to the teach­ing cur­ricu­lum and the research pro­file of an inter­dis­ci­pli­nary depart­ment that pro­vides under­grad­u­ate and grad­u­ate instruc­tion and trains schol­ars to relate Kore­an human­i­ties to transna­tion­al con­cerns. Ph.D. required.
