Colloquium: Sports and Politics in Asia

The Cen­ter for Kore­an Stud­ies spring 2009 col­lo­qui­um series will open Fri­day, Jan­u­ary 30, 2009, with a pre­sen­ta­tion titled “Sports and Pol­i­tics in Asia” by Pro­fes­sor Vic­tor D. Cha of George­town Uni­ver­si­ty. The col­lo­qui­um will be held in the Cen­ter for Kore­an Stud­ies audi­to­ri­um begin­ning at 4:00 p.m.

Vic­tor D. Cha is direc­tor of Asian stud­ies and holds the D.S. Song Chair at George­town Uni­ver­si­ty. From 2004 to 2007 he served as direc­tor for Asian affairs at the White House Nation­al Secu­ri­ty Coun­cil. He was also the deputy head of del­e­ga­tion for the Unit­ed States at the Six Par­ty Talks in Bei­jing. He is an award-win­ning author of three books and has pub­lished wide­ly on U.S. pol­i­cy in Asia.
