Colloquium: Re-Reading Kim Ki-duk’s Cinema of Ressentiment

The Cen­ter for Kore­an Stud­ies fall col­lo­qui­um series con­tin­ues on Thurs­day, Octo­ber 23, 2008, with Prof. Hye Seung Chung’s pre­sen­ta­tion, “Beyond ‘Extreme’: Re-read­ing Kim Ki-duk’s Cin­e­ma of Ressen­ti­ment. The col­lo­qui­um will be held in the Cen­ter for Kore­an Stud­ies audi­to­ri­um begin­ning at 4:00 p.m.

Hye Seung Chung is assis­tant pro­fes­sor of film and media stud­ies in the Depart­ment of Amer­i­can Stud­ies at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and is the author of Hol­ly­wood Asian: Philip Ahn and the Pol­i­tics of Cross-Eth­nic Per­for­mance (2006), among oth­er works.
