Call for Papers: Global Korean Literature at the Crossroads

image for global Korean literatureThe Kore­an Lit­er­a­ture Asso­ci­a­tion invites sub­mis­sion of papers for its con­fer­ence “Glob­al Kore­an Lit­er­a­ture at the Cross­roads: Cel­e­bra­tion of Con­ti­nu­ity and Trans­for­ma­tion.” The con­fer­ence will be held at Duke Uni­ver­si­ty in Durham, North Car­oli­na, Novem­ber 13–14, 2015.

The gath­er­ing will bring togeth­er North Amer­i­can schol­ars work­ing on a wide range of top­ics in Kore­an lit­er­a­ture and cul­ture, includ­ing per­for­mance, art, and film. Papers on all aspects of Kore­an lit­er­a­ture and cul­ture, espe­cial­ly those on cross-cul­tur­al or bor­der-cross­ing themes, will be con­sid­ered. Papers that reflect on the trans­for­ma­tion of Kore­an lit­er­a­ture and cul­ture in a transna­tion­al or glob­al con­text are wel­come. Sub­mis­sions by junior schol­ars and advanced grad­u­ate stu­dents are encour­aged.

Prospec­tive par­tic­i­pants should sub­mit an abstract of 150–200 words and a brief bio with sub­ject line Kore­an Lit­er­a­ture Asso­ci­a­tion: Last Name, First Name to Nay­oung Aimee Kwon (na.kwon@duke.edu) by August 10, 2015.
