The organizing committee of the 8th ISKS International Conference of Korean Studies has issued a call for papers to all members of the International Society for Korean Studies (ISKS). The 8th ISKS International Conference of Korean Studies will be held on Thursday and Friday, August 16 and 17, 2007, at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK.
Conference sessions are planned in history, literature, philosophy and religion, art and folklore, linguistics, sociology/education, politics, economics, and science/technology.
Individual proposals should include a title page, a one-page abstract, and a one-page CV. The title page should include the following information.
- Title of the paper
- Session in which the paper will be presented
- Name(s) of the author(s)
- Department & Affiliation
- E-mail & Post-mail address
- Phone & Fax number
Submissions will be accepted only electronically to email@example.comÃ£â‚¬â‚¬no later than Monday, April 30, 2007. Submissions will be acknowledged via e-mail within three working days. Abstracts will be reviewed based on their content and suitability. Conference presenters will be notified on Monday, May 21, 2007, and will be required to submit a full paper of 10–15 pages for conference proceedings by July 14, 2007.

The registration fee for the congress is 100 USD (30USD for students), payable upon arrival. The fee covers conference kit, refreshments, and one copy of congress proceedings. The amount of financial support available for accepted speakers will depend on fund-raising, and successful applicants will be informed about it at later date.
