Associate Curator of Korean Art

The Los Ange­les Coun­ty Muse­um of Art is seek­ing appli­ca­tions for a posi­tion as asso­ciate cura­tor of Kore­an Art with­in the museum’s Depart­ment of Chi­nese & Kore­an Art. The asso­ciate cura­tor is respon­si­ble for col­lec­tions man­age­ment, involv­ing car­ing for and preser­va­tion of the museum’s col­lec­tion of Kore­an Art; research and dis­sem­i­na­tion, via lec­tures and pub­li­ca­tions, of infor­ma­tion about the col­lec­tion; and the orga­ni­za­tion of exhi­bi­tions and acqui­si­tion of art for the collection. 

Can­di­dates should have a Ph.D. in art his­to­ry with a spe­cial­iza­tion in Kore­an art and three to five years of expe­ri­ence with muse­um cura­to­r­i­al work, col­lec­tions man­age­ment, or teach­ing at the col­lege lev­el. Flu­en­cy in Kore­an and expe­ri­ence trans­lat­ing are required. A record of pub­li­ca­tions is strong­ly preferred.
