The Academy of Korean Studies has announced its 26th Summer Program for International Students. Part of the Academy’s mission to cultivate young leaders in Korean studies, the program combines special lectures on Korea, intensive Korean language instruction, field trips, excursions, and traditional cultural activities.
The summer 2018 program will be held for four weeks from July 9 to August 3. Program activities are conducted in Korean and English. Apart from some English lectures, however, most of the program will be in Korean. Therefore participants should possess basic Korean language skills.
The program is open to undergraduate students of second year or above from universities abroad who are majoring or minoring in Korean studies and those who have taken Korea-related courses at their universities. Students in graduate school and those who hold Korean nationality are not eligible for this program.
The Academy of Korean Studies will cover the cost of registration, lectures, accommodations, and meals during the program as well as expenses incurred during field trips and excursions. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses including round-trip airfare, transportation fee between airport and AKS, and medical insurance.
Applications are being accepted until Friday, February 16, 2018, at 24:00. Applications received after the deadline (Korea Standard Time) will not be considered.
