Grants are available in the following categories: North America or Korea/Outside North America research travel; Korea conference/seminar/workshop organization; Korea instructional materials acquisition; and invitation of distinguished speakers.
The deadline for receiving grant applications in the AAS Ann Arbor, Michigan, office is Monday, February 1, 2016. Award notification will be made by the end of April 2016. Projects must begin after May 1, 2016, and be completed within one year of award.
Note that the North America and Korea/Outside North America research travel grants require that applicants be current members of the Association for Asian Studies at the time of application. Reapplication restrictions apply for these research travel grants.
AAS grants take the form of reimbursement rather than payment in advance, and only after project completion and grant report/form submission. Original receipts need to be retained and reimbursement is only for actual expenses incurred up to the amount of the grant awarded.
Full descriptions of the grant categories and requirements and a link to the application form are available on the AAS Web site: http://www.asian-studies.org/Grants-and-Awards/NEAC-Korea.
