Korea University logoThe Korea Uni­ver­si­ty Kore­an His­to­ry Grad­u­ate Stu­dent Con­fer­ence invites grad­u­ate stu­dents from around the world who are con­duct­ing research in Kore­an his­to­ry to sub­mit abstracts for its 2016 con­fer­ence, to be held Fri­day, April 29, at Korea University’s Anam cam­pus in Seoul. This annu­al con­fer­ence aims to pro­vide a forum for grad­u­ate stu­dents to exchange ideas and dis­cuss cur­rent research on Kore­an his­to­ry. All pan­els will be mod­er­at­ed by Korea Uni­ver­si­ty fac­ul­ty and grad­u­ate students. 

The spe­cial theme of the 2016 con­fer­ence is “Push­ing the Bound­aries of Kore­an His­to­ry, A Mul­ti-Dis­ci­pli­nary Approach.” Although broad, the theme is intend­ed to encour­age grad­u­ate stu­dents study­ing abroad to include inno­v­a­tive inter­pre­ta­tions, new per­spec­tives, and fresh approach­es to Kore­an history. 

Appli­cants must be cur­rent­ly enrolled in a pro­gram of grad­u­ate study (“post­grad­u­ate” in the British degree clas­si­fi­ca­tion sys­tems). Papers must be relat­ed to Kore­an history.

Abstracts must be no longer than 250 words. The dead­line for abstract sub­mis­sion is Thurs­day, Decem­ber 31, 2015. Abstract sub­mis­sions should include name, pro­gram of grad­u­ate study, and con­tact information.

Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be noti­fied of accep­tance by mid-Jan­u­ary. Hous­ing will be avail­able for those pre­sent­ing papers.
